  14. Listed below are signatures for updating VIRUSCAN to detect two new
  15. viruses which have been reported at multiple sites since V106 was
  16. released.  To use them, create an ASCII text file with one signature
  17. to a line, save it to a file with a name like NEWVIR.TXT, and then
  18. run VIRUSCAN with the /EXT option as follows:

  20.     SCAN path /EXT NEWVIR.TXT
  21.  
  22. Where "path" is the name of the drive, directory, or file to scan.

  25. #Parity Boot 2 virus is a boot sector infector
  26. "A3 13 04 B1 06 D3 E0 2D C0 07 A3 4E" Parity Boot 2
  27. #Butterfly is a simple .COM file infector about 300 bytes long
  28. #and recently became widespread accidentally
  29. "B4 4E 8D B6 50 02 8D 96 2C 02 52 EB 3C" Butterfly
